Prof. Taiwo James OBINDO is a Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Jos and an honorary Consultant Psychiatrist with the Jos University Teaching Hospital, Jos.
He is the:

  • incumbent President, Association of Psychiatrists in Nigeria (APN)
  • Chairman, Faculty of Psychiatry, WACP (NIGERIA CHAPTER)
  • Former head of department, Department of Psychiatry, University of Jos and Jos University Teaching Hospital
  • Former Chief examiner, West African College of Physicians
He is an astute Researcher with many publications in Journals with high Impact Factors. His current project is on Mind-Skin NTD Link with some publications which include 'Prevalence of Depression and associated factors in people living with Lymphatic filariasis' and Integrated Services for Neglected Tropical Diseases and mental health: Pilot Study Assessing Acceptability, Feasibility and Attitudes in Benue Prof. Obindo is happily married to his “Abode” and the union is blessed with children. Prof. Obindo plays and watches Football, Scrabble and Table-Tennis.
